Synopsis of Experience
Gene Eames is a member of the Daegis consulting team specializing in Data Analytics. He has been appointed as a Special Master in Federal District Court litigation, where he acts as a neutral expert to help resolve disputes related to ESI. At Daegis, Mr. Eames is responsible for the design and implementation of the Data Analytics process, including consultations with clients, execution of Data Analytics strategies, improving and developing the process, quality control and related documentation.
Mr. Eames performs analysis on data samples to allow for iterative refinement of search and classification criteria, and for validation of the resulting review sets. He utilizes extensive knowledge of text retrieval technology, manual research techniques, feedback from review efforts, and automated analysis tools to inform decisions regarding criteria development. The ultimate goal is the responsible and transparent reduction of the data volume in order to target the most relevant material for review.
Gene has over 25 years of experience in litigation support and technology and has worked on hundreds of matters for multiple Fortune 100 companies. Prior to joining Daegis, Gene co-founded SPi’s data analytics consulting practice, developing and implementing defensible data reduction strategies for large e-discovery projects. He was also involved in the development of knowledge management systems at major pharmaceutical companies and financial institutions encompassing both structured and unstructured corporate information. Prior to this, Mr. Eames spent 15 years as Litigation Support Manager in a major New York law firm.
He is also a working group leader on Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) projects as well as a participant in The Sedona Conference. In addition, Gene has published several white papers and articles on Data Analytics and has been a featured speaker at numerous industry events and legal association meetings.
