  • Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists—The Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS) has established the field’s first and most independent examination by which passing candidates receive the right to use the Certified eDiscovery Specialist (CEDS) certification. ACEDS provides training, continuing education, specialized information, and networking, setting a high standard of development for eDiscovery professionals.
  • AIIM—AIIM is a non-profit organization that provides education, research, and best practices to help organizations find, control, and optimize their information. For over 60 years, AIIM has been helping users to understand the challenges associated with managing documents, content, records, and business processes. AIIM is also known as the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) association.
  • ARMA InternationalARMA International is a not-for-profit professional association and the authority on managing records and information. It is known worldwide for setting standards and best practices and for providing comprehensive education, publications, and information on the efficient maintenance, retrieval, and preservation of vital information created in public and private organizations in all sectors of the economy. Formed in 1955, ARMA International is the oldest and largest association for the records and information management profession with a current international membership of nearly 10,000. It also publishes Information Management magazine.
  • Electronic Discovery Reference Model—The Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) project develops guidelines, sets standards, and delivers resources to help eDiscovery consumers and providers improve quality and reduce costs. The EDRM project is comprised of organizations, service and software providers, law firms, industry groups, and corporations involved with eDiscovery. Independent consultants George Socha (Socha Consulting, LLC) and Tom Gelbmann (Gelbmann & Associates) organized and continue to run the project.
  • The Sedona Conference®—The Sedona Conference is a charitable research and education institute “dedicated to the advancement of law and policy in the areas of antitrust law, complex litigation, e-discovery and intellectual property rights.” The Sedona Conference Institute℠ provides the continuing legal education extension of The Sedona Conference Working Group Series℠.
  • Women in eDiscovery (Boston, Dallas, Minneapolis, and San Francisco chapters)—The mission of Women in eDiscovery (WiE) is to bring together women interested in technology related to the legal industry and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and other women grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support, and national recognition. Its goals also include bridging the knowledge gap between traditional technologies and future trends and establishing a strong communication network among women focused on the legal and technology industries.
